A year ago, Nepal faced one of the most devastating earthquakes of its history.
More than 8,000 innocent people lost their lives, homes and roads were destroyed, and lives were changed forever. And yet, amidst a humanitarian crisis of unprecedented scale, hope vanquished fear.
This is a throwback to the brave men and women who stood tall, and refused to give in.
This is a throwback to those courageous people who sacrificed everything to save the lives of their neighbors.
Nearly a year ago today, we were stunned by the relief efforts done by regular people, who walked kilometers to help us provide clean water to those in danger.
Let these smiles serve as a reminder that a smile can go a long way.
E-coli, Diarrhea and other viruses could be just one drink away from creeping into our bodies.
With one drink, our immunity system is bombarded with diseases. And when the closest medical facility is kilometers away, that one drink could prove to be fatal.
Drinking such unsafe water is part of the daily life of communities across the world, and mainly in South East Asia.
Everyday, millions ingest water that is unsafe. Everyday, lives are lost.
At Wateroam, we aim to transform this water into a safe and reliable source for our beneficiaries, and along the way, transform their lives.
Everyday, this uncle must overcome the hardships of a rough terrain, a scorching sun, and thirst to provide his family with water.
Everyday, the people of Goa Musang, must travel great lengths, in order to collect dirty and contaminated water. These people are thirsty; thirsty for water and thirsty for a chance to change their lives.
When Wateroam visited the area in 2015, we gave them this opportunity. Through our systems, villages in the area now have access to a clean and reliable source of drinking water.
Now, this uncle has time to play with his grandchildren, and doesn't have to worry about quenching their thirsts ever again.
At Wateroam, we strive for progress.
Through innovation, we can solve the most arduous of problems. Sustainable solutions need to be effective, durable and easy to use in order to help the most people possible. More importantly, our solutions must respect the cultural heritage and traditions of the communities we cater to. Our humbling experiences during the Kelantan floods of 2015 demonstrated the link between technology and culture.
At Wateroam, we want to make a change.
Innovate, respect, leave your watermark.
