Clean Water for Schools in Baray800 people reached> Feb 2020 Our partner, AOX, has helped provide clean water for nearly 800 school children in Kampong Thom. AOX sponsored the deployment of ROAMfilter™ Plus systems in rural Cambodia, bringing clean water to hundreds of children, educators, staff and family members across two schools in Baray District. Indonesia Community Development50 people reached> Jan 2020 BGBJ, WaterPlus and Wateroam have given clean water to an entire community in Bantar Gebang, Indonesia. Through installing our ROAMfilter™ Plus in a local school, teachers and educators can provide clean drinking water to their students every day. Additionally, families living near the school now have access to safe drinking water that they can bring home. Cambodia Community Development200 people reached> July 2019 WAH Foundation and Wateroam have joined forces to bring clean water and health education to rural communities in Kampong Chhnang Province. Roughly half of the rural population in Cambodia does not have access to safe drinking water, which not only increases water borne diseases and poor standards of living, but also significantly hinders healthcare services. Since July, we’ve installed our ROAMfilter™ Plus in four community health centres providing clean water to 200 people each day! Our collaboration allows healthcare workers to provide safe, quality treatment and ensure the smooth recovery of their patients. Additionally, health centre staff and villagers living near these health centres now have access to safe drinking water that they can bring home. Community development through demonstrations, education workshops, and maintenance training ensures the long-term sustainability of the project, and this is only the beginning! Together with WAH Foundation, we aim to install our filtration system in 42 health clinics within the province, bringing clean water to thousands living in the area.

Sustainable Water Project in Cambodia90 households reached>Mar 2019 The New Life Foundation’s (NLF) Sustainable Water Project (SWP) in Cambodia does more than provide access to clean water; it helps to create an environment of self-sustainability among rural villages where opportunities are limited. Individuals, households or church communities involved in the production, packaging, and distribution of safe drinking water have created microbusinesses to provide water at affordable costs and earn an additional income. In March 2019, Wateroam’s Champion, NLF, visited a church in Trapang Vihea village to install a water filter, water tank and piping which resulted in approximately 40 children and their families having access to clean water. Through its small business, the church has been able to provide a further 50 households with safe drinking water each month.

Laos Flood Relief with Red Cross200 households reached> Jul 2018 In collaboration with Singapore Red Cross, our filtration systems were able to provide sustainable clean drinking water as part of the Laos flood relief efforts. In June 2018, heavy monsoonal rains, coupled with the collapse of a major dam in Laos caused massive flooding and sunk entire villages. Many evacuation centres which were set up to facilitate the migration of the evacuated communities lack the resources, especially clean drinking water, to support the affected victims. Singapore Red Cross therefore brought eight units of our portable ROAMfilter™ Plus system, which were easily brought to the evacuation centres to provide potable water for Laos relief trip.

Cambodian Village School320 residents reached> Aug 2016 A ROAMfilter™ Ultra was delivered to a school in a rural area in Cambodia. ROAMfilter™ Ultra filters water from a nearby stream which has water that was previously not drinkable as it was muddy and plagued with pathogens. Due to the lack of infrastructure and pipelines, the students do not have access to drinkable water. After installing the ROAMfilter™ Ultra, the school is now able to have clean drinking water which is directly purified from the stream. With the ROAMfilter™ Ultra, the school can finally tap on a reliable localized water source for drinking water. We are privileged to be part of this journey in bringing clean water access to these people. The unit is currently serving over 300 students and 20 teachers who rely on water from the pond, well, river and rain collected through the gutters for drinking, cooking, and washing.

The journey into the remote regions of Gorkha was long, bumpy and ardous, with our vehicles stretched to their extreme limits. We had break downs, collisions, stuck in mud countless times, and tyre punctures. But it always pays off to see the warm smiles of gratitude from the villagers, in appreciation for the journey taken to bring them the much needed aid. This would not have happened without your support, donations, and prayers! Much thanks on behalf of Nepal!

Vanuatu Cyclone Pam Relief2700 residents reached> Apr 2015 Wateroam provided ROAMfilter™ Ultra systems through Relief.sg (Relief Singapore) and the Singapore Red Cross for relief efforts in Vanuatu following the devastating effects of Cyclone Pam. One of the systems were deployed on the volcanic island of Tanna, which was considered to be the area worst hit by Cyclone Pam. The ROAMfilter™ Ultra system filtered water from a muddy creek 7km away, providing clean drinking water into the town of Isangel that has a population of 4000. It was more than what one ROAMfilter™Ultra unit can provide (one unit supports 500-800 people) but at least it provides some relief, and has added a permanent alternative water source to the town’s water network.
